The mechanical strength of high and low viscosity gentamicin-containing cement was analysed using three different mixing procedures: hand, vibration, and vacuum stirring. Vacuum mixing improved the flexural and compression strength and the modulus of elasticity by 15–30 per cent, especially for high viscosity cement.Downloads
