We report two cases of severe aseptic synovitis of the knee 8 and 13 weeks after biodegradable internal fixation (Biofixr` rods) of a fracture of the intercondylar eminence. Both knees were treated by surgical revision and synovectomy. Histologic examination revealed a severe foreign-body type of reactive synovitis in the absence of infection. It is not advisable to use Biofixr` intraarticularly.Downloads
