Clinical and electrophysiological examination for carpal-tunnel syndrome was performed in 60 consecutive hemodialysis patients. The syndrome was diagnosed in 8 patients, 6 of whom had had hemodialysis for more than 10 years. Cystic radiolucency in the carpal bone, possibly a sign of amyloid deposition, was observed more frequently in carpal-tunnel patients and amyloid-induced tenosynovitis in the carpal-tunnel had formed in 4 cases.Downloads
